| About Us As one of the nation's leading management support organizations, the Center for Nonprofit Management brings the most current tools for best practices in nonprofit management to thousands of nonprofit boards, staff and volunteers each year. CNM works to build great people who make great nonprofits with great partners that, connected together, drive great impact in our community. Mission Strengthen nonprofits to enhance sustainability and maximize impact. Vision To be the most vital resource and valued partner for the nonprofit community. History In the late 1970's, The Meadows Foundation in Dallas recognized a significant need for staff development and management assistance to charitable organizations. In 1980, with the support of other local funders, The Meadows Foundation provided the seed funding to establish the Center for Nonprofit Management (CNM) with the intent of serving primarily new, emerging charities, small nonprofits and mid-size groups by providing low cost, high quality management development consulting and business education services. On March 31, 2013, Dallas-based Center for Nonprofit Management (CNM) and Fort Worth-based Funding Information Center (FIC) -- both leaders in supporting the creation, growth and success of nonprofit organizations --merged to extend their reach and effectiveness to nonprofits of all sizes throughout North Texas. The combined organization, which is operated under the name the Center for Nonprofit Management, has offices in Dallas and Ft. Worth, and continues to expand its access to nonprofits across the region. Today, CNM continues the tradition of leveraging contributions and professional relationships to deploy top-notch consultants and nonprofit experts to nonprofits striving to grow in professionalism and, most importantly, community impact. Through donations and grants, CNM covers 50% of direct costs of providing services, and therefore, is able to offer substantially discounted fees to nonprofits. |
